Our Meetings

Our groups consist of around ten students, allowing our two or three enthusiastic high-school teachers to give each student the attention they need to thrive, with interactive activities, games, and discussions integrated.

Our Book This Year

We Have No Idea: A Guide to the Unknown Universe explores the biggest mysteries of the universe, using infographics and humor to explain complex concepts in a way that is fun for curious young readers.

Dates, Location, Time

All sessions will be held from 6:30 to 8:00 PM at the Community Center. You can choose between a Monday group (between July 21st and August 25th), or a Tuesday group (between July 22nd and August 26th).

The Lexington Youth Book Club is our exciting summer program designed for rising 4th to rising 6th graders. Since 2019, we have raised thousands of dollars for charity, various local nonprofits including the Lex Observer and CaLex, through this program. Every week, students will gather to explore the mysteries of the universe and be introduced to the laws of physics through interactive, teacher-led activities based on the fascinating book We Have No Idea by Daniel Whiteson and Jorge Cham. (You can purchase the book here.) Please note: make sure you have your own copy before class, as we will not have extras.

The program will be held at Lexington Community Center (39 Marrett Rd, Lexington, MA 02421).

This high-demand event spans 6 weeks, with weekly meetings from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. There are two session options available: the Monday session runs from July 21, 2025, to August 25, 2025, and the Tuesday session runs from July 22, 2025, to August 26, 2025. Each session accommodates around 10 students, and each child may attend one session only.

Due to the high demand and our engaging agenda, this is an event you won't want to miss! Join us and help support charity through education and fun.
